Blue & White PRIDE!

I leave for Amsterdam in a week! OMG! I'm so excited! I'm excited to compete, excited to meet all my teammates, and excited to experience Amsterdam for the first time.

If you're not into lacrosse or playing sports my next comment may seem a bit weird, but this week we got our new sticks in our team colors. I felt like a 5 year old girl again. I'd unwrapped an awesome birthday present or something, but no it was just a blue and white lacrosse stick yet I felt like someone had just given me a pair of Louboutin's! Yea I was really that excited about a lacrosse stick! From the moment I put my new stick together my mood changed, my play changed and I had a perpetual smile on my face! Maybe it was just because it's new, but I think it's more because it was Blue and White and made our upcoming competition so real.

We are really going to Amsterdam to represent Israel and we are now getting all of our team gear and feeling like a cohesive unit! A real team!! This is gonna be amazing I can feel it. :)

There is one little blip in my excitement though, today I started thinking about how I'm gonna get to the airport and needing to arrange a cab seen as it's Shabbat. Then it hit me that I'm going to the airport and leaving the country and all of the horrible airport experiences of the past year came flooding back! My excitement has been tainted by the thought of the possible 3 hour ordeal I may potentially have to encounter just to get on the plane. OY! I'm going to be positive and hope this is the one time that airport security won't be complete jack asses and I can get on the plane with minimal stress. My positivity only stretches so far though, have no doubt that I will be at the airport 3 hours in advance prepared for the worst and hoping for the best. I can't think about it anymore because it'll only make me angry and I'm too excited right now I don't wanna be angry!

Anyway back to Amsterdam, everyone has been working so hard to get in shape, to raise money, and to organize this entire trip. It's just amazing how far things have come in a short period of time. Also for such a new sport to Israel, the teams managed to get some good media buzz and it's so exciting to know people are talking about lacrosse! :)

Can't wait to step into my uniform now and get on the field as a team and Kick some ASS!!!

By the way I am still fundraising too, no matter how last minute the donation the team will greatly accept and appreciate it. So you can go to my personal fundraising link here: http://www.gofundme.com/k2im8
Or you can enter a raffle to win my team jersey from the tournament. Either way you're sponsoring me and helping out team Israel. To bid on my signed jersey go to http://donate.lacrosse.co.il/player/andi_strachan
